Treatment Time 45 minutes (+15 mins numbing cream prep)
- Avoid tanning and prolonged sun exposure for two weeks prior
- Cease blood thinners, anti-inflammatory medications, omega-oils, multivitamins, vitamin B, vitamin E and glucosamine for one week prior to minimise the risk of bruising
- Men are to be clean shaven or 5 O'clock shadow prior to treatment
- Are taking topical antibiotics for acne (will need to cease two weeks prior to treatment)
- Have active sunburn, solar keratosis or tan
- Have cosmetic body implants
- Are taking arrhythmia medications (will need to cease prior to treatment)
- Have an auto-immune disorder
- Are taking blood thinners (aspirin, Warfarin, ibuprofen, fish oils, ginkgo biloba and alcohol), photosensitisers, and/or antidepressants (consult with client’s general practitioner prior to treatment)
- Have received cosmetic injectable treatments in the past 14 days or electrolysis in the past week. Anti wrinkle such as botox is a 2 week wait and dermal filler is a 4 week wait.
Recommended For client comfort it is recommended that you purchase a topical skin numbing cream from your local pharmacy to apply 15-30 mins before your appointment. If you forget and would like to numb we do have Emla here on standby.
Double Cleanse Skin is double cleansed to remove any oils and residue from the numbing cream. An antiseptic solution will be wiped over the surface to ensure full cleanliness. Your skin therapist will attach your sterile, single-use needle cartridge to the SkinPen® and determine the length of the micro-needle for your procedure.
Skin Needling Once connected, the sterile tip of the SkinPen® needle cartridge is moved across the surface of the skin to perform the needling. Some clients may experience a small amount of discomfort during the procedure alongside a small amount of pinpoint bleeding.
Protect A thin layer of SkinFuse Lift HG is applied to protect the skin against abrasion and friction of the SkinPen®. The SkinPen® is then worked over taught skin in small areas at a time. The treatment is entirely comfortable with numbing cream, but some areas may more sensitive than others.
Mask A peptide hydrogel mask is applied to the freshly skin needled area to help calm and soothe the skin as well as reduce redness.
Results Directly after your SkinPen® treatment, radiant skin is apparent as the deeper skin continues its healing process delivering more youthful and healthy-looking skin. Ideal for facial rejuvenation, to combat stubborn pigment, melasma and age spots. Or to help repair and diminish the appearance of acne and surgical scars.
POST TREATMENT CARE
- Post-treatment, your skin will look as though it is sunburnt. How long the redness will last depends on the individual. Most clients see a reduction in erythema after 24 to 48 hours post-treatment. Some dryness may also be present, which is entirely normal.
- Avoid touching the area or applying any products onto the skin (Except SkinFuse LIFT HG) for 24 hours to prevent infection.
- Only Post-treatment products should be applied to the skin, SkinFuse LIFT HG can be applied when required to help soothe and calm the skin in the 24 hours post treatment. After 24 hours we recommend applying the Rejuvenating Peptide Mask followed by SkinFuse RESCUE Calming complex which should be applied for the next five days to help support the remodelling of the skin. These products are included in the cost of your treatment and are specially formulated to provide all the essential nutrients skin requires for rapid and ongoing healing.
- It is highly encouraged that you avoid sweaty exercise and sun exposure for 72 hours post-SkinPen®
- You may wear makeup the morning after your treatment.
- You may begin your regular skin care regimen 3-4 days after your SkinPen® treatment although you should wait a week before you begin any Retinol products.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS
Avoid sun exposure and skin tanning of all forms prior to and post laser freckle removal and dark spot removal. Our experienced skin therapists will provide you with necessary information and skincare products to maximise the benefits of freckle and pigmentation removal. We recommend using sunscreen at all times to prevent increased freckles, sunspots and age spots.
TREATMENT TIME AND FREQUENCY
SkinPen® micro needling is an intensive 45-minute procedure. Results may become visible after the procedure, however most clients will require multiple treatments for best results. Generally rule of thumb is 3-6 treatments back to back 4-6 weeks apart, then follow up sessions when needed or until desired result.

SkinPen® Precision is approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration. The tip of the pen holds a series of tiny surgical steel needles which pierce the skin. This is customised to suit each individuals skin. The needle cartridge is disposable, and the SkinPen® itself is designed to minimize the risk of contamination. It’s clinically proven safe, minimally invasive with little to no downtime.

If you forget don't worry we have Emla cream here on standby. There is minimal post-procedure reddening of the skin, which dissipates, so there is minimal downtime required.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER MY TREATMENT?
Effects may last for 24-48 hours and there may be pinpoint bleeding and/or bruising. Within several days to several weeks you will notice a smoother, brighter, and more radiant appearance, however, the full effects of the treatment do not appear until several months later. Procedures are usually spaced four to six weeks apart. Clients usually begin to see the superficial, initial results within a week of their first procedure. Radiant skin is apparent as the deeper skin continues its healing process.

- Is, or has taken isotretinoin in the past six months
- Has cold sores, cystic acne, or any other skin infection
- Has tested positive for Hep B, Hep C, or HIV
- Has had any laser resurfacing in the last three months
- Currently has a bacterial or fungal infection
- Has a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring or wound healing problems
- Has areas of skin that are numb or lack sensation
- Has undergone radiation treatment in the last 12 months
